Professor Chancen Bateman is an American Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Sergio Rios out of Rasai Jiu Jitsu in San Diego, CA. Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, Chancen’s Jiu Jitsu journey wouldn’t start until he relocated to San Diego in 2016. Throughout the years, he’s had the opportunity to train alongside some legendary Jiu Jitsu teachers, ultimately having received his black belt by Professor Sergio in 2023. Altough an avid competitor who’s had success at the IBJJF Master 1 Black Belt Division, his real passion comes from sharing and advancing the art through his teaching, believing that the ultimate transformation comes off the mats.
